Senior Backend Engineer (Python, GCP)

Responsibilities:

• Integrate and orchestrate cross-channel messaging across multiuple countries: Push, SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, Apple/Google Wallet and web/in-app messaging.

• Build end-to-end communication logic into the CEP, including frequency capping, next-best channel and send-time decisions.

• Implement automated customer journeys and triggered campaigns: replenishment reminders, wishlist price alerts, browse abandonment, post-purchase flows and Retail Media enablement.

• Build event-driven backend services on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Eventarc) that connect backend systems, the CDP (Zeotap) and the CEP.

• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and ship through CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.

Requirements:

Must have

• Strong Python skills for backend development, including REST APIs with Flask or a similar framework.

• Solid SQL skills.

• Familiarity with Dataform, Datastore, Cloud Workflows and Cloud Scheduler.s

• Hands-on experience with GCP, in particular Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery and Cloud Storage.

• Experience integrating third-party APIs and building event-driven services.

• Infrastructure as code with Terraform (HCL) and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.

• Fluent English for working in an international team.

Nice to have

• Experience with marketing automation and a CEP such as Oracle Responsys or similar

• Experience integrating a CDP (Zeotap).

• Hands-on work with messaging APIs: Business, SMS gateways, WhatsApp, push (FCM/APNs), RCS, Apple/Google Wallet.

• Experience building triggered journeys and campaign logic such as frequency capping or channel orchestration.

• Experience with multi-country rollouts (localization, country-specific consent and opt-in rules).
